USPS have informed they have declared a state of force majeure due to the impact of the Los Angeles fires that has caused widespread and catastrophic damage in Southern California.

There are major routing and delivery issues, including destruction of postal facilities and private properties affecting postcodes in the 90001–95399 area with recovery expected to be lengthy.

USPS has also declared a force majeure in the Anchorage, Alaska area due to severe weather in post code areas 99556 to 99780 where delays are likely be experienced.
