Canada

Per Canada Post – The flooding and landslides that have occurred in British Columbia have been devastating. Many roads, rail lines and bridges have been damaged, and authorities are still assessing the damage and the work needed to reopen roads. At this time, there is no way to travel through British Columbia on land (by highway or rail), and this restriction has a serious impact on our ability to carry certain mail and parcel items into and out of the province.

We have initiated contingencies to fly items of various services such as Lettermail™ (regular and oversized), Xpresspost™ and Priority™ into and out of B.C. These items are being delivered within the province where it is safe to do so and where there is road access, but customers may experience delays.

At this time, Canada Post Neighbourhood Mail™, Publications Mail™, Regular Parcel™ and Expedited Parcel™ items are not moving into or out of British Columbia as options are extremely limited. These items and all other mail remain secure, and we are considering contingencies to deliver them as soon and as safely as possible. Items inducted from Friday, November 12, may be affected.

We are applying force majeure scans to help notify customers of the delays on all barcoded items that are impacted.

When roads start to reopen, we expect traffic to be slow due to the limited roads available, potential lane reductions along the way and the volume of vehicles. Thank you for your patience as we continue to focus on recovery efforts.
