Haiti – Suspended Service

The Postal Service™ has temporarily suspended international mail acceptance to Haiti due to unavailability of transportation.

Australia – Severe Weather

Australian Post have informed us that severe weather is causing floods in regional Western Australia. As a result, the delivery of all mail types is affected for postcode areas 6440, 6725–6740, 6758, 6760, 6765 and 6770. Disruption to International mail in and out of Australia is expected due to difficulties in transporting mail to/from the specified areas with force majeure declared from 13 March 2024.

Myanmar – Suspended Service

The Postal Service™ has temporarily suspended acceptance of Priority Mail International, First-Class Package International Service, International Priority Airmail, and M-Bag items to Myanmar due to unavailability of transportation.

Australia – Bushfires

Australia Post advises that bushfires in regional Victoria are affecting collection and delivery of all mail products in postcode areas 3352, 3373, 3467, 3468, 3477, 3478, 3469, 3370 and 3352. There also will be impacts to mail flow into and out of Australia, owing to issues transporting mail to and from certain areas.

Mauritius – Cyclone Warning

Mauritius Post have informed us that a cyclone warning is currently in force due to Tropical Storm Eleanor. The international airport is temporarily closed with flights cancelled. The transportation and processing of all mail types are impacted and will experience delays as result until normal operation resumes.

Jamaica – Elections

Jamaica Post have informed us that local government elections will take place on 26 February 2024. Staffing and operational adjustments will be made to enable workers and contractors to participate in the election process. As result, mail operation will be limited throughout the day when delay may be observed.

Israel – Elections

Israeli Post have informed us that the municipal elections will take place on 27 February 2024 and this has been declared a non-working day by the Israeli Government. As result, Israel Postal operation will not take place on this day and delivery delay may be observed.

Italy – Strike

Post Italiane have informed us that an unauthorised strike has been ongoing since 00.01 CET on the 10th February 2024. It involves personnel at Malpensa airport and is preventing the shuttle service between the Office of Exchange and Malpensa Air Mail Unit. The strike has caused disruption to inbound and outbound mail handling despite contingency measures. Local authorities are engaged in mediation between the parties with an end date not known at present. As result, delays may be experienced until the situation returns to normal locally.

Central African Republic – Suspension

The Postal Service™ has temporarily suspended international mail acceptance to Central African Republic due to unavailability of transportation.

Israel – Current Situation

As a result of the current situation in Israel there are delays with many flight cancellations. This is a fluid situation and may change at short notice. Throughout the country, the retention period for unclaimed items has been extended to 30 days. All items are subject to delay.

Norway – Office of Exchange

Norwegian Post have informed that due to construction work at their Office of Exchange NOOSLB for next 3 weeks, until 25th February, there may be some disruption in the processing of traffic through the office as result and delays may be experienced throughout this period

Italy – Strike

Post Italiane have informed that a 24-hour strike has been called for 9th February 2024 by Major Unions.  Disruption is to be expected with regards to the handling of mail during the strike and over the weekend into next week. As result, delay may be observed during and immediately after the strike until at least the 13th February

Chile – Valparaiso Fires & Vina del Mar

Chilean Post have informed that its operations in the Valparaíso region are currently disrupted by a number of fires with shipments to and from the region being delayed by at least 24 hours. The following areas will not have home delivery services until further notice:  Viña del Mar:- Canal Beagle, Villa Dulce, Limonares, Villa Independencia, Villa Hermosa, El Olivar, El Salto, Chorrillos, Santa Julia, Miraflores, Achupallas, Reñaca Alto, Villa La Cruz, Rukán. Quilpué: – Canal Chacao, Pompeya norte/sur, Villa Olímpica, Colina de Oro, Población Argentina, Paso hondo, Los Pinos Villa Alemana: Fundo El Rincón, Las Acacias Items sent to the above areas will be delivered to the nearest branch for pickup. The operating hours of some Correos Chile branches may also be shortened where necessary, leading to delays in the transportation, collection and delivery of all mail types.

Belgium – Strike

Belgian have informed that a 24-hour strike is planned from 22.00 CET on 7 February to 22.00 CET on 8 February 2024. The strike will affect the workforce available at the BPost international sorting center and within the domestic sorting and distribution network and as a result, disruption and delay to the receipt of international shipments, as well as the transportation, collection and delivery of all mail types, during and immediately after the strike is likely.

France – Farmers Movement & Strikes in Mayotte

Farmers Movements La Poste have informed us that due to the French farmers’ movement throughout the country (including at borders) the majority of motorways, strategic sections and access to major cities are currently subject to disruption. As a result, they are experiencing difficulties with the receipt of international shipments and the transportation, collection and delivery of all mail types with delays to be expected until situation return to normal. Strikes in Mayotte La Poste have informed us that due to industrial action in Mayotte, parcel-post and services to and from the archipelago have been suspended since 29 January 2024 and as such services to this region are likely to be impacted by delays currently until the situation returns to normal.

Mexico – Acapulco

Mexico Post have updated that whilst the situation in Acapulco and the surrounding regions remains critical, basic postal services have now been re-established since the passing of Hurricane Otis. However, the Post is still unable to guarantee electronic data interchange with its partners owing to a lack of power and connectivity in the affected areas. Finland – Strikes

Fin Post have informed us that several trade unions have announced political strikes throughout Finland on February 1–2, 2024.   The Postal and Logistics Union (PAU) and the Automobile and Transport Workers’ Union (AKT) will participate in the strike actions, hence delays of at least a few days to deliveries can be expected as result.

Belgium – Farmers’ Movement

Belgian Post have informed us that due to the Belgian farmers’ movement throughout the country, the majority of motorways, strategic sections and access to major cities are currently subject to disruption. This movement is expected to last until 2 February 2024 at least. As a result, BPost is experiencing difficulties in the receipt of international shipments, transportation, collection and delivery of all mail types with delays to be expected until situation returns to normal.

Belgium – Heavy Snowfall

Belgium Post have advised us that they are experiencing severe operational difficulties owing to heavy snowfall. A red alert is in place prohibiting the circulation of certain goods and impacting the supply chain. Delays are expected until the situation locally improves.

Iceland – Volcanic Eruption

Icelandic Post have advised that a new volcanic eruption started just north of Grindavik in the Reykjanes peninsula on Sunday 14th January 2024.\ It is deemed likely that more eruptions will occur around the town in the coming weeks, hence It is unlikely that habitants will be allowed to return to live in Grindavik in the coming weeks or months. Iceland Post has not delivered mail in the Grindavik area since the original evacuation 13th of November 2023 and due to the area being uninhabitable it seems unlikely it will be possible to deliver mail in Grindavik in the near future. We will provide any further updates on this as they become available.

France – Severe Weather

La Poste have advised that they are currently experiencing issues owing to severe weather within France, primarily in Northern and Eastern areas. As a result delays should be expected until conditions locally improve.

Luxembourg – Severe Weather Conditions

Lux Post have informed us that due to severe weather conditions the country is currently under red alert. As a result, their mail delivery service will not be provided today (17th January 2024) and the distribution of parcel services may also be affected during this period. Delays are to be expected

Papua New Guinea – State of Emergency

The designated operator of Papua New Guinea, Post PNG, have informed us that the Government has declared a state of emergency effective for 14 days from 12 January 2024 as a result of protests and civil unrest that broke out on 10 January 2024. As a result, delays are to be expected and we will provide a further update when available.

Mauritius – Tropical Cyclone Belal

Mauritius Post have informed us that a cyclone warning is currently in force in Mauritius owing to the passage of Tropical Cyclone Belal. The international airport is temporarily closed, and several flights have been cancelled. The transportation of all mail types is therefore affected across the country with delays to be expected.

Japan – Earthquake in Hokuriku

Japan Post continue to accept mail but have notified us that the delivery of all types of items are currently being delayed owing to damage caused by the earthquake that struck the Hokuriku region on 1 January 2024. The worst affected areas are as follows and delays are likely to be experienced: Niigata, Toyama, Ishikawa and Fukui areas Parts of Hokkaido, Yamagata, Nagano and the Hyogo areas.
