Ralph weighs in on the USPS

Ralph Nader, writing for the Huffington Post, lays out the arguments of revitalizing the Postal Service’s business plan by allowing it to offer new services. He offers tough criticism of the recently departed postmaster general Patrick R. Donahoe and urges Donahoe’s successor, Megan Brennan to not pick apart her agency and tackle more fiercely the 2006 Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act’s requirement that the USPS pre-fund retiree health benefits.

In his words, “Subtracting the pre-funding requirements from the USPS, it would have been in the black by $1.9 billion in 2014 – – the second year in a row of revenue growth.
