Fifteen Companies Qualify in USPS Procurement Process

The USPS delivery fleet has exhausted its useful life and staged a few resuscitations. The Wall Street Journal reports fifteen companies have qualified to participate in the next stage of the procurement process. The USPS expects to select a vehicle that could serve for 20 years and could by 180,000 vehicles over three years. The applicants include conventional and alternative fuel vehicles and some unconventional vehicles that could operate in conjunction with drones. In the next stage of process, manufacturers will need to produce prototypes.
